How we handle your information

Big Dog Builds Pty Ltd · Caboolture, QLD · Last updated 2 July 2026

What we collect, and why

When you request one of our guides, run the GVM checker, or book a call, we ask for the details we need to deliver it — typically your first name, email, sometimes your phone number, and the build details you choose to enter (your truck, gear and towing setup). We collect this directly from you, through the forms on this site.

We use it to: send you the resource you asked for; personalise what you see on this site (so we never ask you the same question twice); contact you if you ask us to; and — only where you've ticked the consent box — send you occasional helpful emails about planning your build. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Cookies and on-device storage

This site uses a small recognition cookie and your browser's local storage to remember your progress through our guides (which steps you've completed, the build details you've entered) so returning visits pick up where you left off. We also use standard analytics and advertising measurement (including Meta and Google tools) to understand how people find and use these pages. You can clear these at any time via your browser settings.

Who we share it with

Your details go into the systems we run the business on — our CRM, email delivery, booking and analytics providers — under their own privacy safeguards. We do not sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires.

SMS

If you give us your mobile number and tick the SMS box, we'll text you the resource and booking reminders. Standard rates apply; reply STOP any time to opt out. We treat SMS consent separately from email consent.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email sales@bigdogbuilds.com and we'll action it promptly. If you have a privacy concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
